Dr. Alison U. Barron is a breast surgeon specializing in breast surgical oncology and is certified by the American Board of Surgery. She is an adjunct assistant professor at Texas A&M University College of Medicine.

Dr. Barron sees all patients with any breast complaint. She is fellowship trained to treat all forms of breast cancer from initial diagnosis, to active management, and long-term post-treatment surveillance. Not only does she treat breast cancer patients but she also manages patients with common breast issues like breast pain, disorders of the nipple/areola, breast abscesses/mastitis, fibrocystic breast disease, abnormal mammograms and palpable abnormalities of the breast tissue. She also manages patients who are at high risk for breast cancer either due to a genetic mutation or based on their family history, dense breast tissue, multiple breast biopsies, among other things.

Background & Education

Dr. Barron attended medical school at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas where she obtained her medical doctorate. She then went on to complete a general surgery internship and residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and Parkland Hospital where she was also chief resident. Dr. Barron then completed a fellowship in Breast Surgical Oncology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.
